Requirements: ANDROID:2.2 and up
Overview: A full 5-row keyboard including arrow and Esc/Ctrl keys, intended for tablets.
[break]
Are you missing the key layout you're used to from your computer? This keyboard has separate number keys, punctuation in the usual places, and arrow keys. It is based on the AOSP Gingerbread soft keyboard, so it supports multitouch for the modifier keys.
This keyboard is especially useful if you use ConnectBot for SSH access. It provides working Tab/Ctrl/Esc keys, and the arrow keys are essential for devices such as the Xoom tablet or Nexus S that don't have a trackball or D-Pad.
Known issues include:
- Localization for the keyboard layout is incomplete. The 5-row keyboard is currently only available for German (QWERTZ), Russian, and Spanish. Let me know if you can help contribute additional language support.
- The auto-complete dictionary is currently English only. Stay tuned for future additions.
- Many applications don't react to additional keys since they aren't programmed to handle them.
What's New:
Re-enabled the localized Gingerbread 4-row keyboards. Note that the application isn't fully localized, you'll still see English text in the options menu. The new languages don't have completion dictionaries yet.
5-row keyboards for Russian (Thanks to Igor Tonky), German QWERTZ, Spanish
updated key maps including Slavic characters
configurable duration for vibrate-on-keypress
bug fixes: inconsistent uppercase completions; 4-row keyboard too small; overlap with soft keys on Archos
